When choosing a mover to help you with your office relocation, it is very important that you take a few steps to make sure that you are choosing the right one for your business.
Confirm Insurance Requirements
Check with your building management to see what insurance requirements your movers will need to work in your building, so when you start contacting moving companies you will know immediately if the moving company that you are contacting meets those requirements. If they can’t produce a certificate of insurance in a timely manner it is likely that you are wasting your time, so move on. I can’t tell you how many times we have received a phone call from a panicked employee who just found out that their movers don’t have enough insurance coverage to work in their building, and they are moving in three days. Office moves usually require extensive planning and man power, so if you’re calling few days before you need to move, you might have a lot of trouble finding an office mover to help you out. So please, check with your building before you do anything.
Shop Around
Make sure you get at least 3 quotes for your office relocation. Compare the rates and find out what services will be provided at that rate. Experienced moving companies should be able to tell exactly what it takes to move your office, and should be able give you an estimate to reflect that. So if you see an estimate that isn't even close to others, then you should probably avoid them. In these situations, going with the lowest price is not always the best solution.
Experience Is Required
When choosing movers to help you with your office move, make sure they have experience in “office moving”. Moving companies that specialize in moving household goods might not do a great job on an office move. If you are moving a large office and relocating a large number of employees, make sure to ask for a reference of a similarly sized office move so you know they can handle the workload.
